Krav
Krav is the principal certification body for organic products in Sweden and products bearing this organisation's logo are well-known on the Swedish market and widely recognised by consumers as a sign of guaranteed high quality.
How to label a Krav product
Operators wishing to label their products directly with the Krav logo, must meet the following requirements:
- the Organic exporter must be EC Reg 834/07 compliant and subscribe the due agreements with Swedish clients in order to began a Krav authorized operator only for this client.
- All the subjects of the supply chain need to be compliant with the additional KRAV requirements and receive an audit with the compilation of a proper checklist ( a proper copy stays at disposal of the companies of the supply chain ).
Normally the Swedish KRAV certified importer has the responsibility and therefore requires to the other sudjects of the supply chain to get the further proper check list.
The checklist does not substitute the KRAV certification, which is exclusively a prerogative of the certified operators, but it's an essential requirement to be part of a KRAV supply chain.
Additional requirements
The KRAV standard is basically similar to the EC Reg 834/07, but it requires some additional requirements, which all subjects of the supply chain need to respect. The principal requirements are focused on the social equality issues for the workforce. These requirements are already included in the contracts for the countries of the EU, therefore they are implicitly satisfied; in other extra EU countries these can not be taken for granted. Other small restrictions concern the production and processing activities, and the assessment for the authorisation for the label use. All indications are available on the website www.krav.se/english.
