Complaint Management Committee

The Complaint Management Committee’s task is to evaluate and decide about complaints of Operators; is appointed by the Board of Directors at Managing Director’s proposal every three years and is satisfactorily independent, impartial and expert.

The Committee is made up of three external members as follows:

  • An expert in the legal matters who knows national and EU regulations that regulate the agri-food field and/or the eco-friendly productions. This member acts as President of the Committee
  • An expert of quality systems and in particular the UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17065 rule
  • A member of the group of consumers within the Impartiality Safeguard Committee

There are also two temporary members, the first member is coming from the consumers’ group while the second one is the Quality and Assurance Responsible of CCPB. The Complaint Management Committee acts according to the criteria described in the internal guidelines approved and accepted by its members.

The Committee has the authority to go to expert consultants in the field of such complaint, but they have only a consultative power and no right to vote. The Committee’s members sign a confidentiality agreement on the information acquired during the activities they are called to attend. Furthermore, committee’s members sign a declaration regarding the absence of conflict of interest including a commitment to report any situation which could be a conflict of interest with the topics that the Committee is dealing with, as well as to temporarily abstain from the proceedings if the above-mentioned conditions should arise.  The latter declaration must be updated every year by the first meeting of the Committee and be checked by CCPB’s Managing Director to evaluate possible conflicts of interest.
