The board of directors

The Board of Directors is the body that administrates CCPB srl and deals with its management.

Their job includes formulating policies for specific company operations, consisting of activities related to inspection and certification and they also manage the company’s business and financial affairs.

The Board of Directors is elected by the Managing Director at the AGM and it consists of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 7 members, the exact number being decided on at the AGM during which they are to be appointed.

The Board of Directors appoints a Chairman whose mandate is to take care of the general management of the company and to make decisions about the way the company operates.



General Manager

The General Manager is employed fulltime by CCPB in the role of Director of the company, all other operating units/departments report to him/her.

Her/his role includes formulating the policies that guide CCPB activities, managing financial operations, including setting the expenses for inspection activities, overseeing that the decisions taken are implemented correctly.

The General Manager appoints the Committee for Safeguarding Impartiality, the Appeal Management Committee and the Organic Standards Committee.

The General Manager carries out the duties assigned to him/her in the Corporate Charter and is responsible for ensuring that decisions taken by the Committee for Safeguarding Impartiality and the Organic Production Standards Committee are correctly implemented by all CCPB departments and offices.

The General Manager signs the certificates and licences issued, and if this is not possible, s/he delegates this to the Inspection and Certification Activities Manager, or in her/his absence, to the Technical Department Manager.


Management Organisations

Committee for Safeguarding Impartiality

The Committee for Safeguarding Impartiality is appointed every 3 years by the General Manager.

Complaint Management Committee

The Complaint Management Committee’s task is to evaluate controversies initiated by suppliers opposed to decisions taken by CCPB.


Organic Standards Committee

This committee is appointed by the General Manager, who coordinates its activities, and it is responsible for drawing up the CCPB organic standards with reference to the existing standards and regulatory documents.

CCPB Srl is a subsidiary of Consorzio il Biologico which reinvests its profits in its activity.

The ower got authorization by acknowledged domestic and international authorities such as USDA in the United Staes, MAFF in Japan for JAS, IOAS in the voluntary international field and in the Mediterranean counries where CCPB works. The structure, independence and non involvement of the company are aim of above external and internal inspections that control the conduct of the company every year.

CCPB accomplishes the guidelines of Rule ISO 17065 establishing the criteria and the fundamentals that any certification body has to respect on international basis.
